Subscribe to the new Chapter and State Development Blog!

The Chapter and State Development Blog has a new home! Make sure to subscribe to the new blog on the brand new hearingloss.org. You can find the blog here

On the right hand side of the page, you will see a link that says  "Subscribe to the HLAA News via email" enter your email address and hit subscribe. Then, go to your email account where you will see an email titled "Activate your Email Subscription to: Hearing Loss Association of America", and click on the link in the email to confirm your subscription.

This will subscribe you to all HLAA news, so you will never miss any important updates. The new blog will be the main form of communication with our chapters and state organizations and we don't want you to miss out on any important information! Posts from the blog will go directly into your email inbox so that you will not miss any news. If you feel that you have missed out on important updates from the HLAA National office this is probably because you are not subscribed to the blog.

An Evening with Mandy Harvey- Friday, June 22Many of you may have heard or seen Mandy Harvey on this season of America’s Got Talent. Mandy is an award winning singer, songwriter and motivational speaker who has a hearing loss. Her appearance on America’s Got Talent got her the “golden buzzer” from Simon Cowell to pass to the next round. The emotional video of her performance went viral, touching people all over the world.

West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater- Saturday, June 23
If you know Minneapolis, then you know about its already rich cultural landscape -specifically its theater scene. The Guthrie Theater, founded in 1963, is an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training. You get to experience the world-class theatrical production of West Side Story at the Guthrie Theater Saturday evening! The theater will be looped, captioned and sign language interpretation will be available for those who need it. Please refer to the Communication Access page for more information on how to request these accommodations. Transportation to and from the theater will be provided. Buses will depart starting at 6:30 p.m.

Send us your pictures!

If you have pictures from chapter/state meetings, social events, expos, or other events with HLAA, please send them to us! These pictures will be used with your permission in future presentations, on hearingloss.org, and in our magazine, Hearing Life. Feel free to also include short descriptions to accompany them.

Please send any high-res, .JPG pictures you would like to give HLAA permission to use to chapters@hearingloss.org.

Looking for a Convention Roommate?

If you are looking for a roommate for this year's Convention, please post your requirements on the HLAA Message Board or
email Judy Martin at judygmartin@gmail.com

In your post/email, make sure to include the following requirements and Judy will get back to you:
1. Male or Female
2. Have a room, need a room
3. Date of arrival and date of departure
4. Will/will not accept a service dog in the room
5. Will/will not accept a third roommate in the room (with a cot)
